The Challenge Walk
Step Out and Change The WorldThroughout the world, millions of people have to walk miles to find water. And often, at the end of their journey, what water they find is dirty and unhygienic. Samaritan’s Purse wants to change that. All you have to do is go for a walk. Go the distance! On Saturday 10th May (or a date that suits you) we are asking thousands of people to go for a walk. We want them to walk four miles – the average distance that women in Africa and Asia have to walk to find water. The idea is really simple.
Oh, all right, you want more? Well there are lots of things that you can do along the way to raise awareness, increase understanding and even raise more money – adhering to the guidelines set out in The Walk Guide, but fundamentally, that’s it: walkers sign up, donate and go the distance! Talk the walk!If we get enough people walking we could lift the Turn on the Tap total to over a million pounds. But to achieve this we need lots of help. We want you to organise a walk and advertise the event. We want you to promote the challenge. And, of course, we want you to do the walk yourself! If you could do any of these things, you’ll be helping people around the world who desperately need access to safe water. By walking four miles, you’ll be helping all those who have to walk for miles. Rise to the challenge! Make a difference by going the distance! |
